Engineer turned ecologist with a passion for art and community building.

My research focuses on understanding behavior patterns of insects, mammals and birds. I specialize in deploying multi-modal sensors for tracking large groups animals in the wild. I am currently working as a post-doctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior and the University of Konstanz. Beyond academia, I work as an independent technology consultant and artist. Finally, my work also includes organizing capacity building initiatives to empower local communities that live in close proximity of nature and wild animals. ⇩

June 2026 : Visited CVPR 2026, gave a talk at the biology department of University of Washington.

April 2026 : Our publication CHIRP is selected as highlight in CVPR 2026 (pre-print). This paper is largest dataset to date for solving AI problems for long-term behavior monitoring. We made a rap song to explain the paper. Enjoy it. « Sound track »
